Meet the 3Rox Racing Team

We have arranged for a very special meet and greet with the 3Rox Racing Team. This opportunity will take place this Friday, July 18th at 4 pm at Hardwood. Team manager Kyle Douglas has set aside some time for the THT athletes and has said the whole team is supposed to be there.

Come out and meet Canadian Mountain Bike legend Geoff Kabush, current Canadian Elite Mens Champion Derek Zandstra, Cam Jette, former THT athlete Marc-Antoine Nadon, as well as Mikalea Kofman and Amanda Sin. These athletes represent Canada all over the world and are taking time out of their Nationals prep to meet us.

We will keep this as a very quick meet, will go in small groups and I am sure they will have a moment to sign a jersey, or something else and maybe a quick photo too. We may even have a moment for a quick group photo with the team. Bring your cameras.

For those that can make it, we will meet a few minutes early and get organized so we can meet the gang but not be too intrusive as they prepare for the National Championships the next day.

Look forward to seeing everyone who can make it there!!

Sea of White Rocks the Big Nickel!

THT had another stellar race weekend for the Canada Cup in Sudbury. The athletes got the course dialed on the pre-rides, followed by some cool swimming, rock jumping and an awesome team dinner at the Caruso Club. The athletes got a little rowdy on the bocce courts and playing foosball, but it’s hard to harness all that energy indoors for more than 20 minutes!!

The weather gods spared us the threatened rain on race day and the course proved to be in excellent shape. Each and every athlete left it all out on the race course and there were once again some breakout performances and a mass of white jerseys on the podium for the 8:30 awards ceremony. The racing was good, but the hanging out with friends, family and team mates proved even more fun!!

Most of the gang stuck around to watch the pros race at 11:30. It is a real treat to watch the best in Canada rip it up, especially when many of them got their start at THT. It is also really cool that all the pros take the time to say hello, share a work of encouragement when we meet on the trails and act as great role models to the younger athletes!! Special thanks to Olympian Emily Batty who always has time for a photo, to sign a jersey, helmet, etc!!

So now it’s time to turn our focus to Nationals and ripping it up on home turf!!

Photos and Race Day Logistics

Hey gang hope everyone is doing well. If anyone has race day, pre-ride or any other cool photos they have taken during the course of the season could you please organize them, maybe of a disk and let me know. We are trying to get a great collection together to share with everyone and tell our team/family story with photos.

On another note. It is very important to wear out team kit when we have had a successful race and made the podium. We should have our jerseys on, no helmets and no sunglasses. It is a great opportunity to represent and advertise all the cool, fun things that THT and “The Sea of White” represents.

Team Photos Wednesday June 25th.

Hey everyone:
We will be doing team photos on WEDNESDAY JUNE 25TH. Please mark this day down and do your best to make it. It would be awesome if we can get as many of the athletes in photos as possible. Please try and be there by 5:45 and please have your team jerseys for the photo. If you don’t have a jersey, there are still lots of available in the shop. We are also encouraging family members to get jerseys as well to support our team and expand the “sea of white.”
We will be doing group photos, ie; Bronze, Bronze Race, etc. Plus one of the coaches and one big group shot at the end, including parents and siblings.
If everyone can get there on time and keep focused, we should finish in time to get the athletes out for most of their pre-race training sessions.

Team Meal at Sudbury Canada Cup

Hey everyone:
An important message for all those that will be attending the Canada Cup in Sudbury. Last year we did a big team meal at this awesome place called the Caruso Club. It was a buffet style meal, with lots of good, healthy choices and really tasty food. The evening was really fun and it was an easy way to gather the gang for a fast, easy meal. We will be doing the same thing again this year.
Nancy Fabbro has graciously offered to organize this for us once again. We need to know numbers (all family members are welcome) so we can reserve the same room we had last year. PLEASE EMAIL NANCY DIRECTLY NO LATER THAT MONDAY JUNE 23rd and let her know how many people will be attending. I think the cost was $20 per person for an all you can eat style buffet (which our athletes took advantage of)!!
Nancy’s email is thefabbros@rogers.com.

See everyone Wednesday.

Another Banner weekend for THT at OCup #3

What a spectacular weekend at beautiful Sir Sam’s ski resort in Haliburton. The weather was perfect the course was in great condition and THT athletes were ready to rock!

A fun weekend of pre-riding, athletes and families hanging out, swimming, playing and chowing down on some hall of fame bbq…..oh yeah and RACING!!

This course handed the athletes the biggest, longest most gruelling climb of the season and they handled it like seasoned pros!! Once again there were some stellar performances and each and every athlete left it all on the course………..coaches and family members were super proud!

Now we have a month until the next race in Sudbury to work on skills and endurance and of course have a ton of FUN with our friends.

THT Rocks the Podium at OCup #2!

What an awesome day for a bike race. The sun was shining and the smiles were even brighter on all the athletes getting ready to rip it up for OCup#2 at Mansfield.

As the athletes warmed up for their race, the parents got the team tent and pit area ready for business. Special shout out to the Bronze Race families for the amazing post race treats!!

9 am and it was go time for the racers. Watching all the athletes conquer the first big climb was inspiring! Determined athletes blasting up the climb, shredding the single track and turning in some amazing performances. It was clear that all the athletes had prepared well and everyone had breakout performances. The 9 am podium presentations were dominated by THT athletes, including a THT sweep of the Pee Wee Boys podium! Our Gold girls captured 2nd and 3rd in their race and coach Fabbs and Jay Z pulled out wins in their races….way to go.

A spectacular day, with lots of fun, friends, joyride jumping, good munchies and bike riding. Next stop, OCup #3 at beautiful Sir Sam’s.

Pre-ride done, next stop OCup #2

THT athletes were out in full force Friday night inspecting the course at Mansfiled, getting the lines dialed and attacking the first climb. Saturday is a light spin for most athletes, with focus on solid nutrition, hydration and rest in preparation for Sunday race day. Can’t wait to witness the “Sea of White” ripping it up Sunday!!

What really happens on Wednesday night

After the Wednesday night training and racing for some kids it is just not enough. What to do? Bring out the BMX bikes and play on the pump track and on trials. For these kids that was STILL not enough so they decided to see how many riders the could fit on a BMX. After the picture I heard some discussion about how next week they could try and go over the jumps with all six of them. I guess if their mountain biking careers do not pan out they will be able to find work at a circus.
