Attention all THT families. The start time for the race will be at 9:30 instead of 9 am tomorrow. Accordingly we will move our team warm ups to 8:30. We will be sending emails to all our groups. It is posted on THT facebook page and check Superfly Racing’s facebook page for details.

Hey THT family and everyone else who checks this out. We have a really unique opportunity to help two of our Alumni team mates Soren Meeuwisse and Paige Foxcroft, compete at the highest level at the Mountain Bike World Championships this year. World’s is in Norway this year and it will be a very expensive undertaking for them to get there to compete.
Both Soren and Paige are amazing young women and talented athletes who went through our program and are now competing at the highest levels and representing not only Canada, but once again proving what an amazing development program we have at Team Hardwood-Trek. They both are amazing role models for the younger athletes in our program and take the chance to ride with them when their busy schedules permit.
Attached are links to their fundraising sites. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated and help them achieve their goals of representing Canada at World’s.

A group of our athletes travelled to Windsor for the Ontario Summer Games to compete in the mountain bike events on August 7th and 8th. There were 3 different events, an individual time trial, cross country race and a team time trial. All the athletes had some amazing performances and left it all out on the course for each and every event.
Congratulations on podium performances to: Sarah Fabbro, 1st U16 Women’s XC, Dana Gilligan, 3rd U16 Women’s XC, Colton Woods, 1st Men’s XC, Brandon Lee, 3rd Men’s XC.
On an interesting note for the next games, THT athletes placed 4 in the top 6 of the Men’s U15 race and both relay teams had awesome performances considering they were racing against several National Champions and medal winners in Cadet and Junior categories.
The games was so much more than just the racing as athletes from across the province got together in the spirit of sport and friendship. It was an awesome experience and the look on some of the athletes faces was priceless when they walked into a stadium of thousands of spectators for the opening ceremonies!

We have arranged for a very special meet and greet with the 3Rox Racing Team. This opportunity will take place this Friday, July 18th at 4 pm at Hardwood. Team manager Kyle Douglas has set aside some time for the THT athletes and has said the whole team is supposed to be there.
Come out and meet Canadian Mountain Bike legend Geoff Kabush, current Canadian Elite Mens Champion Derek Zandstra, Cam Jette, former THT athlete Marc-Antoine Nadon, as well as Mikalea Kofman and Amanda Sin. These athletes represent Canada all over the world and are taking time out of their Nationals prep to meet us.
We will keep this as a very quick meet, will go in small groups and I am sure they will have a moment to sign a jersey, or something else and maybe a quick photo too. We may even have a moment for a quick group photo with the team. Bring your cameras.
For those that can make it, we will meet a few minutes early and get organized so we can meet the gang but not be too intrusive as they prepare for the National Championships the next day.
Look forward to seeing everyone who can make it there!!

THT had another stellar race weekend for the Canada Cup in Sudbury. The athletes got the course dialed on the pre-rides, followed by some cool swimming, rock jumping and an awesome team dinner at the Caruso Club. The athletes got a little rowdy on the bocce courts and playing foosball, but it’s hard to harness all that energy indoors for more than 20 minutes!!
The weather gods spared us the threatened rain on race day and the course proved to be in excellent shape. Each and every athlete left it all out on the race course and there were once again some breakout performances and a mass of white jerseys on the podium for the 8:30 awards ceremony. The racing was good, but the hanging out with friends, family and team mates proved even more fun!!
Most of the gang stuck around to watch the pros race at 11:30. It is a real treat to watch the best in Canada rip it up, especially when many of them got their start at THT. It is also really cool that all the pros take the time to say hello, share a work of encouragement when we meet on the trails and act as great role models to the younger athletes!! Special thanks to Olympian Emily Batty who always has time for a photo, to sign a jersey, helmet, etc!!
So now it’s time to turn our focus to Nationals and ripping it up on home turf!!

Hey gang hope everyone is doing well. If anyone has race day, pre-ride or any other cool photos they have taken during the course of the season could you please organize them, maybe of a disk and let me know. We are trying to get a great collection together to share with everyone and tell our team/family story with photos.
On another note. It is very important to wear out team kit when we have had a successful race and made the podium. We should have our jerseys on, no helmets and no sunglasses. It is a great opportunity to represent and advertise all the cool, fun things that THT and “The Sea of White” represents.
